Genre

Genre - Romance Film - Scott Pilgrim vs The World This film is a romance however if you include sub-genres then it would be classed as an anti-romance film as at the core of the film it is about the character Scott Pilgrim falling in love with the character Ramona Flowers but must fight 7 characters of the film from Ramona's past known as 'the 7 evil ex's' or also known as 'the league of evil ex's'. Throughout the film Scott fights 'the evil ex's' like a video game as it takes many aspects from comic books, arcade games and video game references placed and deliberately put into the film. The film is filled with intellectual puzzles and visceral pleasures, mainly for the audience that would like to play video games and read comic books in their spare time. However it does have basic fundamentals that any viewer would understand. Intellectual puzzles are for the audience that would play games and read comics as it has many references to vide...

Saving Private Ryan (Miss-en-Scene)

Saving Private Ryan Miss-en-Scene 0:04 - The angle of this shot is tilted to the side, this shows the effect of disorientation and discomfort. 0:22 - The camera is free hand or connected to a body rig. Doing this makes the audience feel like a soldier looking over at the other landing crafts, this shows some realism to the shot. 0:29 - We can see a hand shaking. This is showing the audience the characters emotion before we can see what the character looks like. We can clearly see that the character is nervous or anxious. 0:55 - Zooming out from the one character to show several more creates a claustrophobic feeling in the image. 2:00 - Showing us several soldiers been mowed down inside of the landing craft shows the audience the bloodbath of the historical event. The shot also been taken inside of the landing craft makes us feel like a soldier that could be shot and killed at any moment. 2:10 - We can see the Allied troops from the gunner bunkers on the beach...

Codes and Conventions

07/11/19 First Person Shooter Halo is a First Person, Sci-Fi, Action, Shooter that is based in the Halo Universe. The game covers most if not all of the general Conventions of an FPS game as well as other genres too. The entire halo series (Minus Halo wars/2 and Halo Spartan Assault/Strike and Halo 3 ODST) Focuses on one character 'The Master Chief' also known as 'Chief'. As the Halo series does this it already covers the Hero Persona as the player is the character Master Chief and is put in the shoes of the hero, the one person that can save the day. The over Conventions this game covers include the Linear Narrative, Good vs Evil, Collectables, Violence and Gore. The Linear Narrative the game follows is the story of The Master Chief as he fights against an alien enemy. The game is a level based game with cutscenes in between each level explaining the story. This is extremely important to a game like this as if there is nothing to explain what is going on the players...
