Corporate structures What are the operating structures of media companies  A company needs to be efficient to make the most profit Media conglomerates are structured in a way that maximises their reach whilst minimising their cost The largest cost to a company is when they have to use services and providers outside of themselves to create or distribute their product The most efficient conglomerate structure is to utilise vertical and horizontal integration  Horizontal integration is using subsidiaries to market and distribute your product  Vertical integration is doing everything yourself  Production -> Marketing -> Distribution ->    Exhibition/Consumption
